Muchos excitement! One of my little fig cuttings is showing signs of life! I blogged the cutting process on July 11, so that's about a 6 week wait to see some signs of progress - not too shabby.

I was *so* excited to see this little guy budding away. Out of the ten or so cuttings I did, three look a bit as if they might have carked it, and the remainder look about the same as when I did the cuttings. I only need one cutting to work - I'm going to pot it up into a large pot so we can have the benefits of a fig tree with no risk to the plumbing.
I'll give it another three weeks or so, I think, to see if any of the other cuttings spring to life, and if not, I think I'll take a few more cuttings from the tree just to be sure. I've put off doing this year's pruning so that I would have plenty of tip-wood for new cuttings.

Oh, and if you're wondering why my photography has improved so much all of a sudden - my shiny phone has pretty much died, so I've been using Chris's. It turns out, his takes great photos! But it may slow my blogging down, having to borrow his every time I want to take a photo.
