Respite, at last!
This is how Perth's weather (maximum temps) has looked recently:
| Sat 16/01/2010 | 35.7 |
| Sun 17/01/2010 | 42.9 |
| Mon 18/01/2010 | 42.7 |
| Tue 19/01/2010 | 41.1 |
| Wed 20/01/2010 | 30 |
The weather has been, to put it politely, most unpleasant. The air con at work, having recently been restored to working order, completely carked it. The air con is my office usually doesn't work, so I have a lovely fan, but this time it stopped working for everyone, and we got sent home early. Once I got home, I shut Tess and myself in the bedroom with the air con on, and kept myself occupied with the laptop, books, and DVDs. Tess very faithfully stayed on the ground right next to my side of the bed.

While the garden survived the heat quite admirably (and so did the slaters :( ) things at work were not so rosy. We have two worm farms at work, and only one little spot to keep them in -although we've rigged up some brush fencing for shade, one of the farms still gets a bit of sun at certain times of day. Well.. we cooked up some awful worm soup in this farm :( The smell was atrocious.

Sorry for the terrible focus - I had to take the photo quickly before the smell overpowered me!
Luckily, the other farm only lost a few worms, so today we spent quite some time cleaning them both out, and we transferred some worms from the not-soupy farm to the previously-soupy farm. We also added shredded newspaper to soak up the excess moisture in each farm, and they're looking much better now.
And now, back to "Mr Darcy, Vampyre"...
